Handpainted Vintage Bookcase Secretaire Bureau


Wonderful vintage bookcase bureau ( comes apart for transporting). This beautiful piece has been sympathetically updated in a gorgeous dusky grey eggshell paint. The doors are beautifully glazed with original leaded and stained glass , there are beautiful reverse gold leaf panes as well , unfortunately there is a small crack in one pane reflected in the price. The inside of bureau and bookcase have been painted in an almost black eggshell paint.The drawers, shelves and top plinth have been taken back to wood. The addition of subtle old gold detailing brings a glamorous touch.These areas have be sanded, and then Danish oiled . This is an older piece but is in very good condition for her age. I think this could make such a useful storage unit as well as a beautiful addition to any decor.
